「カップモール」
それは、バルサ製の、ある種のささやきを持ったノイジールアーだった。
手のひらに乗せると、その軽さに少し驚いた。それはまるで、まだ記憶に新しい夢の断片のような、あるいは、遠い夏の日の午後を閉じ込めたような質感を持っていたからだ。

このルアーには、奇妙なまでの自信を持たせた。水面の、あるいは水中の、あらゆる種類の「ノイズ」を涼しい顔で通り抜ける力があった。その秘密は、腹部にそっと埋め込まれたウェイトだ。それはまるで、静かな思考の中心に据えられた確かな重りのように、どんな混乱の中でもルアーの姿勢を安定させた。そしてダブルフックは、まるで密やかな約束のように、ボディにぴたりと沿うように設計されている。

大抵のルアーは、少々正直すぎる。ヒートンがわずかに飛び出し、それが水中の竹や倒れた葦、あるいは、まるで時間の澱のように溜まった浮き草や落ち葉に、不用意に触れてしまう。そうして、引っかかる。それはまるで、心の中にひっかかる、忘れかけていた棘のようなものだ。

カラーは、水中の孤独なバスと、水辺で静かに竿を握る人間、その両方にとって、同じように「見えやすい」という、どこか哲学的な意味合いを持つ「ブラックコーチ」。

それは、ただのルアーだった。しかし、それを手にすると、なぜだか、遠くの波の音や、どこかのカフェから漏れるジャズの調べが、かすかに聞こえてくるような気がした。

"Cup Mole"
It was a noisy lure made of balsa wood, yet it carried a certain whisper.
When I held it in my hand, I was a little surprised by its lightness. It felt like a fragment of a dream lingering in my memory, or an image of a distant summer afternoon captured and kept.

This lure gave me a curious sense of confidence. It had the ability to calmly navigate through all kinds of “noise” both on and beneath the water. The secret lay in the weight gently embedded in its belly. Like a heavy thought at the center of a calm mind, it stabilized the lure’s position in any disturbance. The double hook, too, was crafted to fit snug against the body—like a kept secret or a quiet promise.
Most lures are a little too honest. Their eyelets jut out just enough to catch on underwater bamboo, sunken reeds, or floating weeds and old leaves that have settled like the sediment of time. And then they get snagged—a forgotten thorn caught in your heart. But the Cup Mole was different. It slipped past underwater obstacles like a shadow, tracing lost memories sunken to the bottom. Even the cup itself was imbued with a quiet wisdom for moving past these troubles.

It’s simple to use. Just keep reeling it in. It’s like tracing a line that connects past and present. Or, suddenly, you stop, and make a wide turn along the surface of the water. It’s a quiet act, like pausing for a moment at a crossroads in life.

This time, a straight propeller has been added. It’s as if the lure’s quiet “whisper” has been given a touch more willpower. “Appeal” might be too strong a word, but there’s no doubt that its subtle glimmer reaches both those beneath the surface and those of us waiting quietly at the water’s edge.

Its color, “Black Coach,” holds a kind of philosophical meaning: it stands out to both the solitary bass beneath the surface and the angler standing quietly by the shore.
It was just a lure. Yet, when I held it in my hand, I felt as if I could hear the distant sound of waves, or maybe the faint strains of jazz from a distant café.
